Stryker Orthopedics has recalled several defective hip implants, and Stryker class action lawsuits are already proceeding. For a class action lawsuit to occur, all of the plaintiffs must have nearly identical claims and injuries. Stryker has recalled multiple types of hip implants (ABG II, Rejuvenate, Trident, etc.) and they have been linked to many types of injuries, including metal poisoning, chronic pain, revision surgery, and more. If you were injured, contact our Stryker class action attorneys today.

Stryker Class Action Lawsuits
Most people are more familiar with the term “class action lawsuit,” but in the United States, large and complex medical device litigation is usually resolved in a Multi-District Litigation (MDL). Once an MDL is created, it centralizes many lawsuits and class actions into one federal court, under one judge. This significantly improves efficiency and reduces the risk of conflicting rulings in multiple lower courts.
An MDL is not a type of class action, but any Stryker class actions and individual personal injury lawsuits could be transferred into the MDL. Individual lawsuits would remain independent. If a Stryker lawsuit settlement is not reached, each lawsuit would be sent back to the state court where it was originally filed.
Individual personal injury claims are often preferable for plaintiffs who have suffered greater injuries than the average plaintiff in a class action lawsuit. For example, a Stryker class action lawsuit settlement would be split evenly among the class members, but it might not be enough to compensate your injuries. Individual plaintiffs are often able to settle for more damages than members of a class action, which is why our lawyers sometimes recommend filing an individual Stryker hip implant lawsuit for people who were severely injured.
Stryker Lawsuit Settlement
If you file a lawsuit or join a class action, you could receive financial compensation in a Stryker lawsuit settlement. Examples of common damages include:
- Pain and suffering
- Medical expenses (past and future)
- Lost wages
- Decreased quality of life
- Loss of consortium for your spouse
- Permanent injuries
- And more
